After five years in operation,

IslandWood’s programs have reached more than 20,000 children, providing powerful learning experiences that are making a lasting impact on their academic performance and self-esteem. How do we know? Because children, teachers, parents, school administrators and educational experts tell us that the hands-on learning experiences children receive at IslandWood are changing lives.

But demand for our school programs is much greater than we anticipated. In fact, our three sleeping lodges are now consistently full, forcing us to turn away schools. That is why we are undertaking a campaign to expand our campus. We want to complete our original campus design, adding a fourth lodge, classroom, and housing for additional graduate students to increase our school programs by 30 percent. That’s 1,000 more local children participating in IslandWood’s four–day School Overnight Program each year.
